Brickture Privacy Policy
- Builds are shared. During this testing period, every build made with the app is visible to everyone using the app. Do not photograph anything you would not want another user to see.
- Photos are kept. A photo you submit is stored on our server and kept until you ask us to delete it. Under our Terms of Service, the copy you submit becomes TAKGIO's property.
What Brickture collects
- Photos you choose to submit. When you take or pick a photo and confirm it, the image is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to the Brickture server. Nothing is uploaded until you confirm.
- Build data. Each build stores a label (a timestamp by default), the generated 3D model, its parts list, and build instructions, on the server, so the app can show them to you and replay them.
- Your account. To use the app you sign in, either with an email address or with Sign in with Apple or Google. We store your email address and, for Apple and Google, the identifier that provider gives us for you. There is no password — email sign-in uses a one-time code — so there is none for us to store or leak. You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen; see below for what that does.
- A profile picture, if you choose one. Either a picture you upload or one of our built-in characters.
- Kit order details, if you order a kit. When you ask us to quote a brick kit we store the name, email address, phone number and postal address you type, so that a person can price it and post it.
- A device identifier. The app generates a random identifier the first time it runs, stores it on your device, and sends it with each request. We use it to count how many new photo conversions a device has used against its allowance, and — once paid credits are live — to hold a purchased balance. When you sign in, this identifier is linked to your account, so that builds you made before signing in are still yours afterwards. Reinstalling the app generates a new identifier.
- Standard server logs. Like nearly every internet service, our hosting provider records basic request logs (such as IP address and request time) for operations and abuse prevention.
What Brickture does not collect
- No passwords — there is no password to create, and none for us to store. Email sign-in uses a one-time code.
- No contact list, and nothing from your phone beyond the photos you choose to submit and the details you type.
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs of any kind.
- No location data. Photo metadata — including GPS coordinates — is removed from the copy of your photo sent for 3D processing.
- No background access to your camera or photo library. Both are used only at the moment you tap to take or pick a photo, with your permission.
How a photo is processed
- You take or pick a photo and crop it. Only the confirmed image is uploaded to the Brickture server, which is hosted on Fly.io in the United States.
- A cleaned copy — rotated upright, resized, with GPS and other metadata removed — is sent to Tripo (a third-party image-to-3D service operated by VAST) to generate a 3D mesh. Tripo processes that image under its own terms and privacy policy.
- The Brickture server converts that mesh into a brick model, parts list, and step-by-step instructions, and stores them so the app can display and replay the build.
Ownership of what you submit
Under Section 5 of our Terms of Service, the copy of the photo you submit becomes the property of TAKGIO. Your original photograph, on your own device, remains yours.
We limit what we do with submitted photos: we use them to operate and improve the Service. We do not sell them, licence them to third parties for those third parties' own purposes, or use them for advertising.
Under Section 6 of the Terms, TAKGIO owns the generated model, instructions and parts list, and licenses them back to you for your personal, non-commercial use.
Storage, retention and sharing between users
- Server-side data is persistent. Uploaded photos, generated models and build records are stored on a persistent volume and survive server restarts and updates. They are not deleted automatically.
- Builds are visible to all users. The build history in the app is stored on the server and is not scoped to your device. Every user sees every build made with the app, including its model, parts list and instructions. This is intentional for the testing period so that users can see what the app produces.
- Retention. We keep photos and build data for as long as the Service operates, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Deletion on request. Email us at the address below with the build reference or an approximate date and we will delete the photo and the build.
- Deleting your account. You can delete your account from
the Account screen in the app. Your email address, your profile picture
and your Apple or Google identifiers are erased, and every session is
signed out. Your saved delivery details and your order history are
erased from your phone at the same time.
Two things are deliberately kept. Your past builds stay on the server, no longer connected to you, because other people can see them in the shared build history. And any kit order you have placed is kept, including the name, phone number and postal address on it — an order may be one we still have to price, pack and post, and destroying it would lose you the parcel. Tell us if you want an order removed instead.
Sharing with others
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. It is shared only with the service providers needed to run the app:
| Provider | What it receives |
|---|---|
| Tripo (VAST) | A cleaned, metadata-stripped copy of your confirmed photo |
| Fly.io | Hosting and storage of everything the service holds, plus standard request logs |
| RevenueCat (once paid credits are live) |
Store transaction identifiers and an app-generated identifier — no name, email, or card details |
| Apple / Google (purchases) |
The purchase itself. They are the merchants of record and hold the payment details; TAKGIO never sees a card number |
| Apple / Google (sign-in) |
If you choose Sign in with Apple or Google, they confirm your identity to us and give us an identifier for you, and — unless you hide it — your email address |
| Resend | Your email address and the message we are sending you: a one-time sign-in code, or — if you order a kit — a confirmation that repeats the name, phone number and postal address you gave us |
| Google Address Validation (kit orders only) |
The postal address you type at checkout, so we can check it looks deliverable before a person quotes it |
We share what each of these needs to do its job and nothing more. We do not sell, rent or trade your data.
Security
All traffic between the app and the server uses HTTPS. Access to the server requires an access token built into the app. Signing in gives you a separate session of your own; your account is reached with that, not with the app's token. During this testing period the build history is still shared between everyone using the app — see the note above — so signing in does not make your builds private.
Children
Brickture is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. No one under the age of 8 may use the app, because building involves small bricks that a young child can swallow.
Your choices
- Do not submit a photo you would not want another user of the app to see.
- Ask us to delete any photo or build, at the address below.
- Stop using the app at any time; deleting it removes the device identifier held on your device.
Changes
Brickture is in early testing, and this policy may be updated as the product evolves. The current version is always available at this page, and the effective date above will change whenever the policy does.
